Silo ("Silo," "we," "us," or "our") is a private voice room and audio communication application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the Silo mobile application and any related services, websites, or platforms (collectively, the "Service").
By accessing or using Silo, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with the terms described here, please discontinue use of the Service.
This policy is designed to comply with applicable requirements of the Apple App Store, Google Play, applicable data protection laws including GDPR and CCPA, and the policies of payment and subscription processors including RevenueCat.
We collect information that you provide to us directly, information generated through your use of the Service, and information from third-party services you connect to Silo.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data to build advertising profiles or engage in behavioral advertising.
Silo is built around private voice rooms — real-time audio spaces that you create or join by invitation. We take audio privacy seriously.
Audio spoken in voice rooms is transmitted in real time to other room participants using encrypted channels. We do not permanently store the content of live voice conversations by default. Audio exists transiently in memory during the active session and is not retained after the room ends.
We collect metadata about voice room activity, including: room creation timestamps, participant counts (not identities of participants beyond what you have shared with the room), session duration, and connectivity events. This metadata is used to operate the Service and is not disclosed to non-participants.
Silo requests access to your device microphone solely to enable voice communication in rooms you actively join. Microphone access is only active while you are connected to a voice room. You can revoke microphone permission at any time through your device settings; doing so will prevent participation in voice rooms.
Private rooms are accessible only to users who have been explicitly invited by the room creator. We do not expose private room participation lists, room content, or membership to third parties outside of what is necessary to operate the Service or as required by law.
Users may contribute content to Silo including profile information, room names and descriptions, and other textual or visual content ("User Content").
By submitting User Content, you grant Silo a limited, non-exclusive license to host, store, display, and transmit that content solely as necessary to provide the Service to you and other authorized users.
You are solely responsible for User Content you submit. You represent and warrant that you have all rights necessary to grant this license, that your content does not infringe the intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of any third party, and that it complies with our Terms of Service.
Silo reserves the right to remove User Content that violates our Community Guidelines, Terms of Service, or applicable law. Removal may occur proactively based on automated signals or following a report from another user. See our Terms of Service for more on moderation.
Silo offers subscription-based premium features. Subscriptions are processed through the following platforms depending on how you access the app:
In-app purchases and subscriptions on iOS are processed by Apple Inc. Your payment information is collected and managed entirely by Apple and is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. Silo receives a validated receipt and subscription status from Apple. We do not receive your Apple ID credentials or full payment card details.
On Android, subscriptions are processed by Google LLC via the Google Play Billing system, governed by Google's Privacy Policy. Silo receives a purchase token and subscription status. We do not receive your Google account credentials or payment card details.
We use RevenueCat as our subscription management platform. RevenueCat processes subscription events, manages entitlements, and provides cross-platform purchase validation. RevenueCat receives your app user ID, purchase receipts, and subscription status. RevenueCat's privacy practices are described in the RevenueCat Privacy Policy.
Silo retains the following subscription-related data: subscription tier, subscription status (active / expired / trial / cancelled), original purchase date, renewal date, and platform of purchase. This data is used to grant or revoke access to premium features and to provide subscription support.
Refund requests for in-app purchases made through Apple must be submitted to Apple. Refund requests for purchases made through Google Play must be submitted to Google. Silo does not process payment refunds directly but will cooperate with valid refund inquiries.
We use analytics and crash reporting tools to understand how the Service is used, identify bugs, and improve performance. The categories of data processed may include:
Analytics data is used in aggregate to make product decisions. Where analytics data is associated with a device identifier, it is treated as personal data in jurisdictions where required. You may opt out of analytics data collection in the app's Settings → Privacy menu on supported platforms.
Crash reporting may collect device state and app logs at the moment of a crash. This information is used only for debugging and quality improvement and is not shared with third parties for marketing purposes.
With your permission, Silo may send push notifications to your device for purposes including:
Push notifications require the generation and storage of a push token issued by Apple (APNs) or Google (FCM). These tokens are stored securely and used solely to deliver notifications to your device.
You can manage or disable push notifications at any time through your device's system settings or within the Silo app under Settings → Notifications. Disabling notifications will not affect your ability to use the core Service.
Silo does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data with third parties only in the following circumstances:
We engage trusted third-party vendors to help us operate the Service (e.g., cloud hosting, audio infrastructure, analytics, push notification delivery, customer support). These vendors are contractually bound to process your data only on our behalf and according to our instructions.
As described in the Subscriptions section, we share purchase validation data with RevenueCat, Apple, and Google as necessary to verify and manage your subscription entitlements.
We may disclose information if required to do so by law, court order, or governmental authority, or if we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Silo, our users, or the public.
In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, user data may be transferred to the acquiring entity, subject to the same privacy commitments described here.
We may share your information for any other purpose with your explicit prior consent.
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the Service. Specific retention practices include:
We implement technical and organizational measures designed to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include:
No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your account has been compromised, please contact us immediately at sidra.support.info@gmail.com.
Silo is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 13 (or 16 in the European Economic Area). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under these ages.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal data without your consent, please contact us at sidra.support.info@gmail.com and we will promptly investigate and delete the information if confirmed.
You have the right to delete your Silo account and associated personal data at any time.
Note: Deleting your Silo account does not automatically cancel a subscription billed through Apple or Google. Please cancel your subscription through the respective platform (App Store / Google Play) separately to avoid future charges.
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights with respect to your personal data:
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at sidra.support.info@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days (or the timeframe required by applicable law). We may need to verify your identity before processing certain requests.

Your continued use of Silo after the effective date of any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with the changes, please stop using the Service and delete your account.
